Feeling someone standing behind me?/schizocd
Disclaimer: I have GAD, hypochondria, Panic disorder, OCD, and PTSD. I’m going through what is HOPEFULLY a severe hypochondria/ocd theme where I’ve convinced myself that I am developing schizophrenia. So I've been having this very strange symptom on and off for the past 3 months, the best way I can describe it is, it feels like someone is standing right behind me 24/7 even though I know very well there is not. It's like that sixth sense, anticipatory tense up feeling you get when someone is actually walking up behind you or sneaking up on you. It's like the feelings of butterflies in your stomach when you're nervous, except I feel it in my back. I feel like I constantly need to be looking behind me, it's a very distressing feeling. I do not feel threatened by said presence or actually believe that that there is a presence behind me, if anything I am distressed by the feeling itself and why it's happening. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this? When I google this, all it tells me is things like "Presence Hallucinations...common in people with schizophrenia..." "Perceptual disturbances....common in the development of psychosis..." and it scares the f**k out of me, I am terrified of developing schizophrenia or having psychosis in any form. Can anyone share their experience if they've ever dealt with anything like this?
