Hey friends. I’m kind of experiencing a spike today. Everything my husband says or does to love me makes me feel sick. I’m avoiding him and just dreading pursuing quality time. How do you choose through this and these strong feelings and urges? It sucks. Has anyone seen the other side with more confidence?

I don’t know if it’ll have the exact answers you’re looking for, but it was helpful. At least to me. ❤️ As for going through the strong feelings and urges, those are a result of anxiety. Reminding ourselves of what we know is true can help uproot the “what if’s” and those feelings that follow. Challenging those feelings by sitting in them is uncomfortable, but it will eventually help push them out. We have a Father who loves us so much and wants to help every aspect of our lives. Continue to take this to Him in prayer. He does care. ❤️
I cant speak from the perspective of marriage, but I can say I've experienced this in my long term relationship with my bf. I too, am a believer of Jesus Christ and am struggling with ROCD, or so I believe because I haven't been formally diagnosed. I am with an amazing man who o believe is a good fit for me but battle the fears and anxiety about taking the next step to marry him. We have a great relationship and he is so good to me. I don't understand any of this (don't want to label it a disease, I guess issue?)
@Sunshineflowers7 As a Christian do you ever experience religion ocd about your relationship where you feel like if yall have sex before marriage God wont allow the relationship to work and you constantly overthink if you are doing everything right in Gods eyes so he wont take the relationship from you?
@KaylaJenae My boyfriend and I are saving ourselves until marriage. But I haven't experienced religion ocd before.
@KaylaJenae I have felt this with my girlfriend , I feel like not even with sex but if I do anything sexual or super intimate my time is up and relationship is done and I’ve run out of chances
Yup I can totally relate. For me, l've noticed that my anxiety & obsessions will just attack & nitpick every negative or semi-unattractive quality to an extreme (1 have hyper fixations about my bfs physical aspects) or about his sense of humor & sometimes just obsessing over those small things makes me want to run away from it all bc it's not "perfect" in my brain. Do you feel like this happens more when you are in an anxious mindset? I also am Christian and know that if I don't spend adequate time with God, my anxiety will increase & therefore transfer to my S/O.
Anybody married with ROCD?
I am in a really bad spot with my ROCD right now. I have been having terrible fears that I married the wrong person and that I don’t actually love him. One of my obsessions has been surrounding a guy friend of mine from a few years ago and wondering if I would’ve been better off married to him (we never dated, I was dating my husband then). But now I’m worried because If OCD attaches to what we love and value most, I’m concerned that I truly love that other guy - and even if I am having OCD, the fact that I’m obsessing over him/his wife and the idea I might’ve been better with him, doesn’t that mean something??? Anyone else experience this? I feel so beat down.
Discovering and struggling with my ROCD during my engagement has been the worst time of my life. Worrying incessantly about my fiancé and our future has made me miserable and I’ve become quite hopeless. I also feel so much pressure for everything to be perfect and to make the absolute most of my wedding/honeymoon/etc whatever it is that it’s debilitating. It has been causing a lot of passive suicidal thoughts not wanting to suffer this anymore.
